Ph. D. graduated in 2022. Pierre-Louis was born in Québec city, Canada, in 1993. He completed his B.Sc. in chemistry at Université Laval (UL) in 2016. In 2014, he joined Dr. Thierry Ollevier group (UL) to work on a new metal-free synthesis of phenols. He pursued in 2015, supported by the Centre in Green Chemistry and Catalysis (CGCC), on collaboration with Dr. Thierry Ollevier and Dr. Freddy Kleitz (UL) on a synthesis of chiral ligands grafted on solid support for heterogeneous catalysis of Mukaiyama aldol addition and also on oxidation of sulfide using silica nanostructures as heterogeneous catalyst. His willing to pursue in sustainable development and using first row transition metal in organic and organometallic chemistry made him join Dr. Bruce A. Arndtsen lab at Mcgill University in July 2016 for a Ph.D. thesis. His research themes involve C-Cl bond activation, nickel catalysis and photocatalysis in carbonylation reactions. Outside chemistry, Pierre-Louis spends most of his time doing sport and cooking. For the last 4 years, he coached many high school basketball teams. |
