Ben completed his masters in chemistry in 2021 at the University of Nottingham under the supervision of prof. Andrew Teale, studying the effects of extreme magnetic fields on small molecules using real-time time-dependent SCF electronic structure methods. He then moved to Canada to start his Ph. D. under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Arndsten and Prof. Nicolas Moitessier. He is currently working on developing green polymerisation methods based on established light driven palladium catalysed carbonylations. Additionally, he is also using time-dependent DFT to probe the catalytic mechanisms involved in these transformations.
